These hanging glass angels feature coloured and textured wings, a body and head of solid glass and a halo converted into a loop for hanging. Each angel is individually hand sculpted while the glass is in a molten state, after which it is properlly annealed to ensure the finished piece is as strong and durable as possible.
Sometimes I'm asked what my different colored angels mean to me - do I have a thought in mind during their sculpting, or am I simply making a rainbow of angels for no reason? The first time I was asked, I was a little taken aback... of COURSE I made them in different colors, I mean, I could, right? So why wouldn't I? But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that there was much more than that to it: my green angel for example isn't just "green", it's a specific green I selected from dozens of different shades and tones. Why's that? Well, this particular green reminded me of the needles on a certain pine tree up at my Grandmother's cottage, and that made me smile and think of some very happy times. In the end I think that's what these angels are all about: they represent something different to each person: maybe their faith, maybe a reminder that somebody cared enough to send one as a present, or any number of things. I would never presume to tell you what an angel should bring to mind, that would be rather presumptuous on my part. But it's my hope that for you, like they do for me, they bring to mind something that brings a smile to your face; hopefully a thought of something, someplace, or someone you love.
