Individually hand blown using the same methods and techniques glassblowers have used since antiquity, these ornaments are a holiday classic just like the one your great great great great great grandmother may have had.
The making of these ornaments begins in the glassblowing hotshop, where a special glassblowing furnace holds extremely hot molten glass. From here the glass is pulled and blown by mouth into a hollow sphere, and glass colour is added. This colour melts and flows throwout the rest of the piece differently for each ornament, ensuring that each finished piece will be unique and individual from all those made before it. While the piece is still hot a small glass loop is added to make for easy hanging, and finally it is slowly cooled over the course of 24 hours in a special glassblowing kiln to ensure the glass is strong enough to last a lifetime.
Diameter - Approx 9.5cm (3.75")
Weight: Approx 78g (0.17 lbs)
*Please note that as each piece is made by hand some variations from these dimensions are to be expected, and these measurements should be taken as an average only.
